2016 FENDI CASA

Product design

During the Salone del Mobile 2016, Fendi Casa has presented the Velum Lamps designed by the architect Marco Costanzi and inspired by the tribal masks and the metallic shapes used by the FENDI artisans to cut the precious leathers and carefully selected by the architect in the Maison’s archives. These lamps, whose name recalls the impalpable membranes applied on the Berber curtains, are realized in metal with a brush finishing. They feature wall, table and floor lamps. The wall lamps feature a play of holes creating see-through effects on the front and the back, generating different shades of light that lit-up the atmosphere in a unique way, giving life to new graphic and luminous results. Proposed in a sophisticated and luxurious version covered with fur on the exterior, they elegantly recall the Fur Tablets and the incredible FENDI workmanships in fur. Fendi highest savoir-faire is celebrated also in the Fur Tablets, 13 Made-to-Order pieces in fur, unveiled for the first time to the public in the new Fendi Casa exhibition space, letting the Fendi Fur Tablets become real works of art. Realized with the highest care for details, the Fur Tablets embody the result of the unique research made by the Roman Maison’s artisans to translate the sketches designed by Karl Lagerfeld into bespoke furs, celebrating the Fendi daring creativity and the highest expertise in fur.
