Christian Dior, Paris

2020 padova Italy

A new logistics hub for Christian Dior in Italy to handle and distribution of the men’s and women’s clothing lines. Marco Costanzi Architects chose for the facades simple materials that help differentiate the two functions of the new structure – administrative and logistical. As a whole the exterior is interpreted as a monolithic element: black prefabricated panels used for the logistical spaces are in sharp contrast to the white prefabricated cement panels chosen for the administrative building. The interior relationship between these to two spaces is treated differently: as a play between the volumes, accentuating the full versus the empty. These open floor plans are placed across from one another and divided by an internal patio and visible to one another through large glass windows. Dior’s favorite damascene roses fill this small secret garden.
